About the Flint Hills International Children's Festival

The idea for the Festival grew from a simple concept; to give Minnesota children the very best performing arts the world has to offer. Ordway Center for the Performing Arts' mission to host, present, and create performing arts opportunities that engage artists and enrich diverse audiences, continues as we bring extraordinary talent to engage our youngest audience members in a six day festival celebrating the all-encompassing power and growth of their imaginations.

The Festival takes place in two parts. Four days belong to school children. Ordway Center subsidizes bus expenses for schools from all over the state of Minnesota, and offers discounted tickets, which makes it possible for teachers to introduce students to exceptional art in a world class venue.

The weekend of May 30 and 31 is the Festival Family Weekend in which families experience unprecedented performing arts inside Ordway Center and participate in a vibrant and colorful World Party outside in Rice Park and in Landmark Plaza.
