Curriculum and Assessment Mapping Projects
improve and measure the quality of instruction in K-12 classrooms.
  • In the fall of 2009 middle, junior and senior high school teachers began working in all-district collaborative cohorts to define and document  major features of curriculum and shared assessments in visual and performing arts areas. This was an authentic process mapping what teachers do in their classrooms now. The maps align with MN. State Academic Standards in the Arts and work was guided by the research of R. Stiggins, G. Wiggins and H. Hayes Jacobs.

  • Cohorts met through out the year with Perpich Center for the Arts curriculum  and assessment experts, independent consultants and district staff to map courses and assessments.  Teachers accomplishments include completed or drafts of the following courses:

    •    Dance, 7th Grade Dance

  • Looking at Student Work
  • In the spring of 2009 teacher teams selected examples of student work to collect and examine collaboratively to moderate teacher judgments about the quality of learning, and to improve curriculum and instruction.
