    My name is Marty Gaslin and I am the program manager for mathematics 7-12 for the Saint Paul Public Schools.
    Prior to becoming the program manager I was the high school math coach for the Center for Academic Excellence. Before that I taught mathematics at Humboldt High School from 1987-2002.
    Since I do not have classroom responsibilities, I have always felt a need to teach. Since 1998 I have taught courses at Metropolitan State University and Saint Paul College. Both institutions have wonderful students and have made my career a fulfilling one.
    The work that I enjoy the most is the regular work with teachers. Math teachers in Saint Paul are extremely committed to helping all of our students learn. This is demonstrated by their attendance at professional development activities and curriculum work during the school year.
