Global Classrooms Program

Global Classrooms
Global Classrooms is an innovative program in which students engage in authentic simulations and debate current global issues such as human rights, peace and security, and sustainable development. During simulations, students in the Global Classrooms program play the parts of ambassadors from United Nations member states. In their role as delegates, the students draft resolutions, negotiate with supporters and adversaries, strategize, and abide by the UN's rules of procedure.

In order to play their roles, students must research the countries that they represent and the global problems to be addressed. The student-centered, hands-on Model UN experience allows students the opportunity to expand their knowledge of diverse cultures, global issues, and UN procedures, as well as their skills in conflict resolution, research, public speaking, writing, and problem solving.

Grant funded program includes:

  • Professional Development Opportunities
  • Guest Speakers
  • Classroom Materials
  • Model UN Conference
Global Classrooms Minnesota is a collaborative program of the United Nations Association of Minnesota and Saint Paul Public Schools.
