 Historians in the Schools (HITS)
Saint Paul Public Schools is in its second year of a three-year teaching U.S. history grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Education. Historians in the Schools (HITS) is a compelling new program for social studies teachers grades 7-12 designed to enhance the quality of American history instruction and content.
The foundation of HITS is the belief that partnerships with academic historians and museum professionals help teachers increase their knowledge, improve the quality of instruction, and raise student achievement. The intent is to create a coordinated, sustainable model of American history teaching, learning and practice.
