DISCIPLINARY LITERACY UNDERSTANDINGS
Within Disciplinary Literacy our focus is on developing the professional capacity of every teacher starting where he/she is, and going to where he/she sees value/wants to get to.
Disciplinary Literacy is a process meant to help us develop the intentionality of our practice.
Disciplinary Literacy puts the Principles Of Learnings into practice in each discipline.
Having one member of a Professional Learning Community engaged in this work deepens and enriches the entire professional community.
Example: If one person is taking graduate credits/courses, his/her coursework does not derail the process or inhibit our Professional Learning Community protocols; instead, what that member learns and shares benefits the work of the entire learning community.
