Excel students will be tested online in the fall and the spring again this year by using EduTest benchmark tests in order to evaluate student progress. Excel teachers may also use EduTest throughout the year to check students' knowledge and skills in reading and math by using the skills sets and unit tests. Riverside Assess2Learn, an online testing program that correlates with the MCA test, was implemented in 3rd and 5th grades this year as a diagnostic measure in preparation for the MCA test. The Scantron Diagnostic online test was also introduced to the middle schools as a diagnostic tool to measure students' reading and mathematics skill levels. READ 180, a reading intervention program that combines reading software, high-interest reading materials, and small group instruction, was implemented in the middle schools as part of a district reading initiative. The new online AIP form and reporting procedures were introduced to teachers and schools in an effort to make information more accessible when students transfer to a new school within the district.
